Villa Cecilia is an old farmhouse dating back to before 1800. You will find it perched on a hill in the heart of the Valdichiana, about 4 km from Castiglion Fiorentino, a characteristic village where you will find shops, restaurants, supermarkets and all necessities.
The farmhouse has been recently and carefully restored under the careful guidance of the owners, who strongly wished to maintain its ancient origins and characteristics. The original terracotta tiled floors, the high ceilings with wooden beams, all coordinated with quality furnishings, with fine antiques, are a perfect match for the characteristics of the villa. You will feel a sense of warmth at the villa, you will feel welcomed and pampered, perfectly in harmony with your surroundings.
The history of the farmhouse is also fascinating. In ancient times, the Valdichiana was a swamp and before the land reclamation took place, its waters lapped the land of the property and just a few steps from the house there was a small harbour for boats that connected by water to the surrounding villages.
Today the villa is part of a farm that includes vineyards, cereal crops, farmyard animals and beautiful horses. About 1 km away, at the owners' residence, you will be able to enjoy the organic produce from their vegetable garden free of charge. Their paddocks, should you travel with your horses, will be at your disposal (service available for a fee).
Around the villa, you will enjoy a large, completely fenced green space perfect for your morning or evening walks even with your four-legged friends. Inside the park there is also a woodland path (approx. 500 m) where you can relax, walk and organise cool snacks.
For your days at home, there is a beautiful infinity swimming pool (size 6x12 m, depth 1.35 m - open from 01 May to 30 September), with a Roman staircase, a beautiful porch well equipped with outdoor furniture, where you can enjoy a book or an aperitif in company, the barbecue for your cookouts and also games for your children. The beautiful panoramic swimming pool (size 5x10 m, depth 0.90-1.80 m - open from 01st May to 30th September) was built on a large green terrace, just a few metres from the house. In the completely enclosed garden, your children can play freely in absolute tranquillity in the shade of the olive trees and century-old trees, while you, by the side of the pool, can enjoy the sun while admiring the fantastic panorama of the valley below. For the little ones' playtime there is also a playhouse in a tree.
At the back of the house you will have at your disposal, for dinners or lunches in the open air, a comfortable equipped area, wood-burning oven and barbecue, where you can enjoy your meals in company.

The complex, consisting of the main villa and an annex, has been built adapting to the hilly landform that characterizes the property. The main entrance of the villa, which has two floors both with direct external access, is located on the side next to the driveway. Three steps outside lead into the vast living area that occupies the entire ground floor, where the rooms are all connected. Starting from the sitting/TV room, arranged with pure white divans gathered around the antique fireplace and the large TV, which runs along the wide outside portico, we come to a further small sitting room with second fireplace and, from here, to the dining room which also faces out onto the garden with seating area. Also on the ground floor are the kitchen, accessed from the dining room, the laundry room and a guest bathroom. The complex consists of two residential structures: the main house with adjacent annex and a second annex. The MAIN HOUSE has two floors and follows the terraced morphology of the garden which also permits outside access from the bedrooms on the upper floor. The living area on the ground floor consists of an open-plan area with sitting room, satellite TV and fireplace, dining table and built-in kitchen. A double bedroom and a bathroom with shower (which can become ensuite thanks to a double door that separates it from the living area) complete the floor. An internal staircase leads upstairs to a reading room, three double bedrooms and three bathrooms with shower, two of which are ensuite. Pozzonovo is an old farmhouse divided into 3 comfortable apartments and is the result of the skilful and careful renovation of a stone building. The three units have independent entrances and in the garden their own area equipped with a table, chairs, sun umbrella and barbecue, perfect for enjoying your meals in the open air.
You will find the farmhouse immersed in the Valdichiana countryside and, at the same time, close to the village of Castiglion Fiorentino, which can be easily reached on foot with a walk of about 1.5 km. From the railway station in Castiglion Fiorentino it will be easy to travel by train for day trips to Florence, Rome and other interesting cities in central Italy.
We advise you to immerse yourself in the life of the small village, its shops, bars and restaurants; you will get a glimpse of country life that still harks back to ancient traditions and customs.
The stone walls, wooden and brick ceilings and simple but comfortable furnishings give the apartments a special charm. You will immediately feel at home, welcomed by a warm atmosphere and by Mrs Rita, the owner, who is always ready to assist her guests in times of need.
Together with the owner, you will be able to make use of the large outdoor area, a cool, large 6 x 12 m swimming pool (depth 0.90-1.40 m - open from 01 May to 30 September) located in front of the house, the badminton court, table tennis and bowling green.

For children there is a large green outdoor space to explore with a five-a-side football goal for fun times with friends. The house is definitely perfect, in our opinion, for family holiday with children or for a small group of friends who want to discover the beauty of Tuscany and the nearby Umbria, renting a villa with private pool.

We guarantee that you will leave your heart in Castiglion Fiorentino. A small town of steep, paved alleyways, ancient buildings, stone stairways and arches and mighty walls dominated by the imposing Cassero tower, guarding the valley. Many trattorias and restaurants invite you to go out in the evening and enjoy a dish of fresh, handmade pasta or a famous Florentine steak.
In Castiglion Fiorentino you will also find supermarkets for your daily shopping, other shops and all necessary services. From the house you can easily walk to a restaurant which is just 1 km far.

Usciano is an ancient village of medieval origin, located a few kilometres from the city of Arezzo. It is located on a panoramic position, perched on a high hill, surrounded by olive groves and green woods of oak and holm-oak. The stone farmhouse and its two small houses date back to 1851, when the small village was inhabited by woodcutters, farmers and chestnut growers, the atmosphere alone will immediately take you back to those times.
The hamlet has been restored preserving its original features and using ancient materials such as terracotta, stone and old wooden beams. Even the furniture, functional and comfortable, has been chosen in respect of rural traditions.
Borgo di Usciano can be reached by an unpaved road through the woods of about 1.5 km, which is well maintained and suitable for all types of cars.
Only 2.5 km away is the village of Palazzo del Pero where you will find a couple of restaurants and some shops.
Only 9 km away is the city of Arezzo and its monuments, shops for shopping enthusiasts, supermarkets, restaurants and all kinds of services. But we also recommend that you spend wonderful days discovering the old town centre, its narrow streets and the works of art by Piero della Francesca, Cimabue and Vasari, scattered throughout the city.
The outdoor area of Borgo di Usciano is divided into various panoramic terraces, and you'll be spoilt for choice whether to relax in the solarium by the beautiful infinity pool (size 7x14 m, depth 1-1.60 m - open from 01st May to 30th September), in the shade of a cool tree in the lower part of the garden, or climb the hill with a 360° panorama and a good book to keep you company.
Adjacent to the kitchen is the paved area with a stone barbecue and wood-burning oven, and equipped with tables and chairs, where you can enjoy pizza and barbecue with your family or friends. You will reach the centre of Arezzo in less than 10 minutes by car and here you will find all the necessary amenities and services, as well as museums, magnificent churches, cathedrals and monuments to visit.
One of the villa's bonuses is certainly its location. It is located within the Pomaio winery, a renowned winery that produces its excellent wines following the rules of eco-sustainability. Pomaio is listed as one of the 13 most beautiful Design Cellars in the Region of Tuscany for the Toscana Wine Architecture project, and this Green philosophy was also followed for the renovation of the villa. In fact, thanks to the materials used, the villa has a high energy-saving rating, with positive effects both for the environment and for those who stay there in all seasons.
Therefore, in addition to living in the midst of an almost enchanted place, amidst splendid rows of vines that slope down towards the silhouette of the city, you will be able to taste the excellent wines in the wine cellar when you feel like taking a little walk and reaching it.

Galleria di Brolio is an old stone farmhouse whose origins date back to 1800, located between two of the most important towns of the Valdichiana, Castiglion Fiorentino and Foiano, and which is now part of the owners' farm. You will find the farmhouse just a few kilometres from the two towns and in both, as well as various monuments and sites of artistic interest that are definitely worth a visit, you will have shops, restaurants and all kinds of services. The small historic centres of the villages will be a pleasant destination for your aperitifs or dinners at the restaurant.
The farmhouse takes its name from the Galleria di Brolio, a conduit that is still in operation today and is located on the edge of the olive grove. The conduit is part of the canal built between 1932 and 1940 to improve the flow of water towards the Arno, planned by the engineer Vittorio Fossombroni for the reclamation of the valley at the end of the 18th century.
Galleria di Brolio is situated on the edge of a wood of about 20 hectares of oaks and pines used as a hunting reserve for the repopulation of animals; they live here in the utmost freedom and if you love wildlife you will frequently see hares and pheasants running in the olive grove, the vineyard and even in the house lawn.
On the ground floor there is the apartment where the owners live, as well as a cellar and a shed for the farm's agricultural tools, while the first floor is reserved for you. The furnishings are very nice and comfortable, enriched with local antiques, and blend in perfectly with the old features of the house. Not far away, on the other side of the wood, passes the railway line that connects central Italy with the main cities of the peninsula (Florence, Bologna, Rome, Milan), so it will be easy to move around even without a car.
A few metres from the house, surrounded by silver olive trees, you will find a beautiful swimming pool completely fenced and for your exclusive use (size 11x5 m, depth 1.10-1.40 m - open from 01st May to 30th September), together with a gazebo equipped with garden furniture, which will allow you to shelter from the hot summer sun.
There is also a large pergola supplied with wrought iron furniture for eating outside, equipped with a barbecue and a wood-burning oven, for those evenings when you want to enjoy a pizza or a grill “al fresco”.
The owner, on request, will prepare excellent typical Tuscan dinners and pizzas in the wood-fired oven which, we are told by customers who have stayed at the house, are truly delicious. Galleria di Brolio

Beschrijving
Deze werkelijk charmante en elegante villa met privézwembad ligt op een zeer rustige en spectaculaire locatie, op slechts enkele kilometers afstand van het schilderachtige dorpje Montalcino, de streek die wereldwijd bekendstaat om de beroemde rode wijn: Brunello di Montalcino. Op slechts vijf minuten rijden ligt het beroemde Castello di Banfi, waar gasten de wijnkelders en het gehucht kunnen bezoeken terwijl ze genieten van de heerlijke rode wijn, of kunnen lunchen of dineren in een van hun uitstekende restaurants.
Het uitzicht vanuit het huis is adembenemend en strekt zich uit over de Val d’Orcia en de Crete Senesi, door velen beschouwd als de mooiste gebieden van Toscane. De eigenaar, een gerenommeerde Italiaanse architect en interieurontwerper, heeft de villa volledig in overeenstemming met de Toscaanse traditie gerestaureerd en ingericht met een indrukwekkende combinatie van persoonlijk ontworpen meubels en antieke stukken. Het pand bestaat uit de hoofdboerderij, gebouwd van Toscaans natuursteen, en een slaapkamer met eigen badkamer in het gastenverblijf. Andere slaapkamers met eigen badkamer kunnen tegen meerprijs worden gehuurd, waardoor er plaats is voor maximaal 18 personen. Lavacchio is gerestaureerd en ingericht volgens hoge normen; alle slaapkamers op de eerste verdieping hebben airconditioning en er zijn op verzoek twee andere draagbare units beschikbaar.
