Beschrijving

Het gehucht La Campana werd al in de middeleeuwen gesticht maar ontwikkelde pas tijdens de 17de eeuw zijn huidige structuur. Toen besloot de bankiersfamilie Tolomei uit Siena haar herenhuis hier te laten bouwen, inclusief kapel. Hierdoor breidde het gehucht wat uit.

De gebouwen van La Campana zijn recentelijk volledig gerestaureerd en het is nu mogelijk om je in de aangename verblijven te ontspannen omringd door het schitterende landschap van de Crete Senesi, de geschiedenis en de kunst van dit onvergetelijke hoekje Toscane en de voortreffelijke wijnen en gerechten van dit gebied, met de witte truffel als hoogtepunt.

Tenuta la Campana bestaat uit 8 appartementen, Renaissance Villa en Cottage Bruco, allen stijlvol ingericht en met een eigen ingang en een buitenruimte of een overdekt privéterras met tafels en stoelen om in de openlucht te kunnen eten.
Het herenhuis is omringd door een groot park met paviljoenen en is ingericht met laat-negentiende- en begin-twintigste-eeuwse meubels.
Alle keukens zowel in de appartementen als in het herenhuis beschikken over gasfornuis, oven, afwasmachine, koelkast en diepvrieskist.

Private swimming pool for the Renaissance Villa and shared one for the cottage Bruco.

Ter beschikking van de gasten: gemeenschappelijke tennisbaan, speeltuin voor kinderen en barbecue.

De villa heeft een eigen ingang naar het omringende exclusieve park met hoge bomen, waar ook het zwembad ligt - met tafels, stoelen, ligstoelen en parasols.

De Cottage Bruco heeft een eigen tuin met een schaduwrijk terras, uitgerust met tafel en stoelen om buiten te eten.

The abbey was founded in 1313 AD and is the mother house of the Olivetan Order of Benedictines. The Abbot responsible for the whole Order still resides here. The abbey contains important Renaissance masterpieces such as the cycle of frescoes by Luca Signorelli and Sodoma (early 16th century) depicting the life of Saint Benedict.
