What a view. Yes, do not take a low rider to this location however we did have a front wheel drive Fiat wagon and did not have a problem. The villa was immaculate and we would recommend it to anyone wanting an out of the way spot to vacation. We used this villa to stage many day trips. Paula our hostess was only seen on the first and last day but came and cleaned several times. We were very satisfied.

The villa is beautifull, so are the surroundings, the pool area and the views.
A perfect get away for a week to visit another side of tuscany.

This extremely beautiful and unique property is about as close to heaven as you can get in Tuscany. Literally. It, and a companion house, are on a mountaintop about five miles from the stunning walled city of Cortona. You will never have a better view from a swimming pool! The owners are lovely people. In this small town is a wonderful restaurant, the Albergo, with a very accommodating owner, and an amazing rosemary steak dish, among other delights. If you want to be in the center of things, don't come here. Otherwise, you'll find this comfortable, modern home unforgettable. Barry B.- Olney, Maryland.

Glorious surroundings, absolutely fabulous welcome. Just amazing. The owner picked us up from the train station, his wife is lovely, a real character. She introduced us to the townsfolk and we couldn't have been made more welcome, in too many ways to say here. I am a single parent travelling with my teenage sons and they made us feel like we had found a second home - everywhere you look is beuaty and you are surrounded by warm, lovely people. Magnifico! The Palace is the most beautiful place I've ever been - really. Amazing. The funiculor is exquisite - obviously I can't praise this place highly enough.

Mooie locatie in zeer rustig buitengebied, nette woning, niet helemaal schoon bij aankomst.
Hoogte schoonmaakkosten is daarom verwonderlijk (€ 80,-)

We had a delightful week at Villa Il Nido. We were 5 adults and found the villa clean, spacious and very comfortable. We enjoyed being away from the crowds in the main tourist areas yet had easy access to Lucca,Barga,Pisa and Cinque Terre. Other activities we enjoyed were a wine and olive oil tasting nearby and having a private cooking lesson in the Villa.
We shared quite a few bottles of wine sitting by the fireplace or looking over the mountain vistas. The restaurants in town were very good and the gelato at the bottom of the hill was excellent.
Our host Paolo and his wife were accessible and very helpful (and the home made cookies and pastries were a nice treat!)

The only negative point we encountered during our 2nd week of May (2010) stay in Cupido was the weather - just bad luck. So, a very satisfactory stay could have been fantastic if also that part would have been in our favour. For the rest, we were very happy with the accomodation, the location, facilities and nice nice landlord couple. An absolute recommendation!

What a beautiful villa and very friendly owners. There is everything you might need upon arrival to from a bottle of water to breakfast croissants! Shower room spacious and even a hair dryer provided ladies! House is in splendid order and the views breathtaking. The private pool is wonderful along with outside shower and BBQ. I would thoroughly recommend Casa Simona for a little private getaway. Close to San Gimignano and easy drive to Pisa/Siena/Volterra/Monteriggiano/Lucca. We would like to return in the summer.

Nice quiet area, with nice views. Good location to visit the Chianti region. House is big enough and garden is great. This house is perfect to live outside and enjoy the garden(s) and BBQ. Is not to be recommended with bad weather: it's very humid en gets cold fast and the m3 price for heating is out of all proportion and could dramatically impact your budget. The level of confort is also too low to enjoy your time inside the house: no confortable seating area. We had bad weather and a baby and got a huge bill for heating to keep the house on 19degrees. We would now choose for a house where heating is included in the price, since you never know what the weather will be.
