We had a wonderful time at Gigliola. The property was so beautiful and even better then the pictures. The town of Cortona is lovely and coming home to an air conditioned villa with every amenity (pool, indoor kitchen, outdoor kitchen, washing machine) made our vacation. The owners are delightful and were so very kind and we cannot wait to come back for our next visit!
Spacious apartment in an old stone building. New clean bathrooms. Spacious bedrooms also. The other bedroom has a double bed, and the other one has a double bed and a single bed. We got a baby bed as requested.
Kitchen area had fridge, freezer, stove, dishwasher, coffee maker, micro, toaster, all utensils. The nearest town Panzano is about 2 kilometers away so it is best to have a car. In Panzano there is one small grocery store Coop, but if you are coming from the direction of Greve, there is bigger Coop and it is better to stop to buy some food there. Note that the Coops are open midday and evening but close in the afternoon.
There is a small pool in the garden of the villa but we couldn't use it during our stay (in July). The water was dirty and you couldn't see the bottom of the pool. The owners tried to clean it with some chemicals but it didn't help. Since the owners do not speak English, it wasn't clear to us what the problem was.
There is wine and olive oil tasting in the same building. Owners can also cook some food but we didn't try that. There are several good restaurants in Panzano - Cantinetta Sassolini, Oltre il Giardino, Dario Doc and Solociccia.
Stephano, who was our host, was wonderful. Always smiling and friendly, and had plenty of good advice for stuff to see and experience. His father in law had a small kitchen garden, from which he offered us
his tomatoes, cucumber and melon.

The House was very clean, and the swimming pool very big, and we had all to our selfs.
Stunning location nestled in the Tuscan countryside. Well situated for exploring many major cities including Sienna, Pisa, Rome, Florence, Assisi. Very friendly and welcoming family and made us feel very comfortable and relaxed. Spoilt us with much delicious fresh organic farm produce. Children loved the pool and gardens and exploring the farm.
