Il Basso was the perfect place to call "home" on our vacation to Italy. After a hectic day of sight-seeing in the nearby towns, it provided a peaceful end to the day.
We loved the privacy of our own little "mountain top" retreat with the valley view below. You can see LaVerna from the villa. (Have Rosita point it out to you!) We highly recommend you make the drive to visit LaVerna. The monastery and park are absolutely beautiful and the view from there is spectacular.
Inside the villa, the bedrooms have enough seperation to allow for privacy. Each bedroom having it's own bathroom made it easy to share the villa with a group.
We visited in September, and did not swim in the pool. We did use the poolside patio for dining and it was terrific. Even though we weren't swimming, the pool was cleaned each day so it always looked inviting.
We will definately have Il Basso on our accomodations list for our next trip to Tuscany!
My family and I had a good time at the Village, the only problem was the location of it.
The Village was hard to find, we were lucky that I person living in Volterra took us to the Village.
In addition, the internet service was really bad which it was good for me because I disconnected from work but for the other part of the family were desperate to have connection with the outside world.
Ein traumhaft schönes Haus mit stilvoller Einrichtung und super Blick auf Montepulciano. Das sehr große Grundstück enthält einen Olivenhain und ist rund um das Haus sehr gepflegt und mit Oleander und vielen Blumen geschmückt. In der nahen Umgebung gibt es unzählige Ausflugsziele und alleine die einzigartige und grandiose Hügel-Landschaft ist eine Reise wert. Alesandro hat uns sehr gut betreut und ist bei Problemen innerhalb von 10 Minuten zur Stelle. Leider hatte bei unserem Aufenthalt das Warm- und Kaltwasser einen unangenehmen Geruch. Insgesamt war es aber ein wundervoller Urlaub. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder.
[English translation courtesy of Easy Reserve] A beautiful dreamlike house with stylish decor and great views of Montepulciano. The very large property includes an olive grove and the area around the house is very well maintained and decorated with oleander and many flowers. In the vicinity there are numerous attractions and alone the unique and magnificent hill landscape is worth the trip. Alessandro cared for us very well and arrived within 10 minutes after our call to help us. Unfortunately during our stay had the hot and cold water an unpleasant odor. Overall it was a wonderful vacation but. We'll be back.
We had stayed here before and previously found the experience amazing. We wanted to return but were extremely apprehensive when applying this time. The current application procedure under Easyresearve was ringing all bells and flashing red lights.
Since we had been before we took the gamble and relied on the reputation. The gamble won and our time there was perfect.
Eine sehr schöne und gepflegte Unterkunft, der Pool ist grandios.
Dass die Putzfrauen viermal die Woche da sind, fanden wir ein wenig übertrieben.

We found a little excessive the fact that the cleaning women came four times in a week. Otherwise, everything was wonderful!
Villa Alisso is very nicely located in Montebello. The house itself is very spacious and ideal for a big family or multiple couples the rooms with individual bathrooms are very well seperated providing very good privacy in case of multiple couples. The house and the surroundings are very peacefull and quiet. Swimming pool is nice and big and the garden provides plenty of space for children to play. Some of the lesser aspects of the house are the kitchen which has not a great lay out in case you want to cook at home and and also the kitchenware is very minimal.f.e no coffeemachine, limited number of glasses,... it all is a little worn out. Although the cleaning lady is coming 3 times a week, one might question why because the place was not really clean when we found it. No change of towels and bedsheets. The beds are of a poor quality and a little shaky. The humidity level in the house is also very high, causing the towels not to dry properly. Lighting outside is poor preventing in the evening eating outside. But overall we had a very nice vacation and the location is really beautiful.
We met Carlo and his wife. They were so lovely, welcoming, engaging and excellent hosts. Carlo's wife cooked dinner for us from everything in their farm. We had antelope, pasta, bruschetta, fried vegetables, pasta and their own wine. I am now a fan of Massanera's Chianti Classico! The villa was beautiful, immaculate and just right for our needs. The area was very scenic and the pool was refreshing. Our hosts were very accommodating, accessible and answered our many questions and gave us suggestions for groceries and restaurants. I am recommending this villa to our friends and family.
