Villa Gropina and the Culture

Our first trip to Italy was to Loro Ciuffenna and Gropina (Villa Gropina). Beautiful towns that are small and wonderful. My wife and I spent several evenings enjoying the culture and wonderful people of Loro Ciuffenna. They are very friendly and they like having visitors to their town. Close enough to Florence for you to drive (30 minutes) or ride the train an avoid traffic. The sunsets are wonderful from the villa and the river through the town is so romantic. You will see couples standing on the bridges and sitting on the rocks all wrapped up in each others love and romance. It's a girl thing guys, but they will love it and you for taking them there.

A little coffee shop is open at 6:00 am and a gelato (icecream) shop each afternoon. Three wonderful restaurants here all have fantastic food. Christine ran both of the coffee shop and the gelato shop, and is from England so she speaks English (the Kings English of course). Christine really helped us feel at home here and helped me to communicate better with the locals.

CAUTION: Watch for the "no parking" signs. The market comes here on Mondays and you don't want to get your car towed off. (I almost did.)

To recap: Slow paced cities and wonderful people, great food and of course "ROMANCE" for her. We have been back 3 times. Different villas each time and they are all great.

Take her there and you will be her hero for life.
